Match Abandoned!
Mayflower Stadium - A shocking revelation prematurely ended the big bottom-of-the-table clash between Mavericks FC and AJPL FC today on a rainswept Saturday afternoon.
The Outsiders looked to have gotten their season back on track as they managed to recapture the form that made them the league champions of last season with an efficient performance that gave the long-suffering fans of this great club something to shout about.
The Outsiders, boasting a full array of attacking talent in their ranks, with almost a full squad available, with the exception of skipper Chao Xing and veteran centre-back Chuan Ji, gave a blistering performance of total football. Never has any football team in history been applauded in this way, by both sets of fans, and rightly so, due to this simply sublime artistry on display.
However, things were not meant to be, it seems. In the icy cold pitter-patter of the rain, events turned for the worst. A twist of fate. Events that would shake the very foundations of our beliefs. Events that would bring to fruition, a sense of dread that would inflict the stability, society has come to take for granted in these modern times. What we have come to know as art in its glorious, purest form, was halted. In the brilliance of the raging storm of thunder, football gave way to a lesser medium. A medium of terror, bringing notions of post-apocalyptic fear to us all. The beauty of football was sacrificed. Not for the greater good, but for something else. Something unfathomable. What is this you might ask?
"Aiyoyo! NO NO NO! You Don't Talk nonsense! I tell my BOSS now then you know! I say the field cannot play, means CANNOT play la! Aiyoyo! Why you like this?! You grandmama never teach you issit! My grand mama from Sri Lanka got teach me manners!
