November Programme
Hi guys,
As mentioned after last week's horrendous/unlucky loss, we will be taking a break/holiday for the month, most likely restarting in late November or early December. If anyone wishes to arrange match for the team, please feel free to call up whoever is available.
To prepare for league action, I hope we can improve our pressing game. Which requires more muscle and stamina from the team.
For better advice, do consult those who gym often. My personal focus will be to improve match fitness, vision and agility by playing badminton.
Otherwise for most of the guys who are about to have their exams, do study hard, and weekly exercise is a good way to destress and maintain the physique too!
Some areas to focus on for us: (well i spend more time on the sidelines that's why i observed.. LOL)
Generally the physical traits I think may help in the pressing game: aggression, stamina, speed, strength.
Advice provided by Darran: He reccomends that we try to work on the leg muscles (I personally reccomend the hamstring as it's the most tricky part) and the obliques to improve agility. To improve strength, it would be easy to do a general training to beef up our muscles, focus maybe on the upper body. The focus of this month will be to improve on your agility or stability, wherever you think is lacking. But Darran also pointed out that it is possible that training focus on either traits may be detrimental to the other. For eg, you may become more muscular on your upper body and less likely to lose your balance but the compensation may be your speed and agility.
