Journalist: Hello Alex, just taking 5 minutes of your time. So how was it like, playing as an outfield player?
Alex: It was a great experience, actually it was my 2nd time playing as an outfield player.
But this time, it's different, as i played almost one whole half, playing different positions.
Journalist: I understand that you actually played as a lone striker, and then u switched to defensive midfielder, to bolster the midfield. And it worked great for the team!
How was it like?
Alex: Well, playing as striker was BORING la! As for playing DM, it was actually fun, and it's always nice to help the team win by other means, instead of me always saving and diving full stretch using my Spiderman reflexes and all. But it was fun, being in the thick of the action once in a while.
Journalist: That's nice to hear. By the way, do you feel that your place in the team is under threat? Especially with the emergence of the youth team goalkeeper, aptly named "Gf's Bro 1".
It is a well-known fact that he had a brilliant debut last week, and to top it all off, he made a brilliant one-handed reflex save at point blank range. Something, yourself would be proud of!
Alex: Yes, yes, he had a great match. But matters of who becomes first-choice keeper or who makes the line-up is up to the manager. Well, if i'm not first choice keeper anymore, no worries. I can always challenge Seng Yew and Amir in midfield! Now that i've got experience playing in their positions!

- First and foremost, the Mavericks Board would like to wish all those who are linked with the club a very blissful Merry Christmas. The owner has issued a statement to the press that despite the festive period, the players have been repeatedly reminded to cut down on the turkey and wine as they look to extend their good start to the season, after 2 victories and a draw in their opening matches. She has further reinforced that should the need for the players to "release" arises, her door is open 24/7. And players caught late partying during this Christmas period will be subsequently dropped and might even be released (no pun intended) on a free transfer during the upcoming transfer window.
- With the advent of the January Transfer Window, several clubs are frantically searching the market for new arrivals to bolster their respective squads. Mavericks FC is no different, and after last week's moral boosting win at The Katong, the team is sure to strike up permanent deals to secure several loan signings who starred in that match. Right-back Chris' place in the team is under threat after Mavericks FC 's youth player, nicknamed, "Gf's bro 2" had a brilliant game last weekend, totally owning the right flank as if he has been playing there for years already. Journalists managed to track down Chris at a bar, but they found him too drunk already to comment on this.
- The Outsiders Times is kick-starting a brand new weekly interviews column for the new season! This week, we have Mavericks custodian Alex, who was interviewed after the match last week, regarding his introduction as an outfield player in last weekend's 2-0 victory:-

- The Owner has signaled her intentions to bolster the squad with a list of possible transfer targets this coming transfer window. "We've already shortlisted several new faces to come join our team of cute boys! I want a couple of back-up players; a new full-back who can play either flank...because Chris is going to be busy with me for a few months (oooh those muscles! =p)." "Oh Clement? Hmm, he's busy with some other girl. Sighs" (pouts her lips). "I don't think there is a need to buy new strikers, because currently our adorable strike partnership of Wei Long and Randy is doing really well, plus we'll have Zhi Fei back soon. "Anyway, I think we need to find a left winger too, who can actually defend!!". Several transfer targets are being lined up at the moment as we speak.
- The infamous explosive new signing, who was signed almost 4 months ago, is yet to make his debut. The fans are starting to get restless and irritated by said player's no-show, and several protesters have gathered outside the club's home ground last weekend, demanding that he show up. Which of course, he didn't. This time though, he claimed that he had a headache and was in no condition to face the public. Previously, he cited reasons as having no proper footwear to play with as well as waking up too late on matchday. The board is afraid to take action and fine him, because he might just not appear for the court hearing because he forgot to wear his underpants.
- Mavericks FC favourite ref Charles has been sidelined, after being beaten up by hooligans in a championship match. The team wishes all their condolences for the Nigerian-born referee, and no news has been heard whatsover regarding his return to the pitch. The team will make a special trip down to the city hospital and pay him a visit, coupled by several gifts of his favourite dishes, Jollof Rice and Chinchin.
