- Mavericks FC has sealed the signing of defensive midfielder Chin Yuen for an undisclosed fee, rumoured to be around the 20 million euros region. The cultured midfielder has been on-loan for the Outsiders this season, and the Mavericks Board have decided to make him a permanent signing after several eye-catching performances, providing cover for the Mavericks rearguard countless of times. Chin Yuen is contracted to the club in a lucrative deal, signed just before the closure of the current transfer window, almost about the same time irritating Tottenham Hotspurs signed another player once again, in the form of Russian forward Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow.
- Mavericks FC have bolstered their midfield with two more further signings just before the end of the current transfer window. The Mavericks Board has worked overtime and their efforts have paid off as they have secured the signings of speedy winger Darran and energetic attacking midfielder Barry within minutes of the closure of the window. The signing of the two midfielders will no doubt add depth to the squad, and would soften the blow of losing star playmaker Kee Siang, whom the Mavericks are resigned to lose after the player signalled his intentions to join NTU FC after a tumultous transfer saga which stretched through out the pre-season. Both Darran and Barry had explosive debuts, and the Mavericks faithful can't wait to see them playing in the Outsiders' colours at home this month.
- World-class centre-forward Zhi Fei has been attached on as an ambassador for Mavericks FC in the foreign market, as the Mavericks Board look to expand their fan-base outside of the country, this time, in Taiwan. The star player will be having a 6 month loan-stint at local club, Shihlin Chicken FC and the player's services will be sorely missed. The Board, however, has warned the forward, to behave himself in Taiwan, as they would not want a repeat of what happened to anchorman Mike in China after he was caught in several suggestive poses in the tabloids by the papparazzis. Well, Taiwanese girls can be irresistable sometimes.....
- Full-back Randy, who has just returned to the club after a half-year exile, is raring to go at it once again in the Mavericks colours after he made a rather unorthodox return in the previous match, playing as a striker. He has made it known to everyone in the dressing room, as well as the Mavericks management that he will be the player to fill in Zhi Fei's golden boots during his absence and promises goals by the buckets. This explains the lack of transfer activity in the striker department by the Mavericks Board.
- The travelling away fans were not disappointed after their beloved Mavericks battled their way to a convincing 2-1 win at the Tamp-ford Bridge Stadium in the previous match. However, the majority of them noticed something indifferent about right-back Chris. One fan said, "His chest muscles looked rather downcast that day....wonder what happened?". The Mavericks Board has looked into the matter, and has assured on the club website that their fan favourite was just having a bad day that day. And yet still, he managed to put in a world-class performance!
- Veteran left-back Clement and centre-midfielder Seng Yew has been fined 2 weeks wages. Their failure to reach on time for kick-off on matchday has left the Board with no choice but to discipline them. The Board has given a final warning, and failure to comply will result in the two pals writing the match reports for the next 7 matches. Haha.
- An online poll on a fan-site has revealed that 70% chose Ref Charles as their favourite referee on match days. 29% chose Ref Charles II, who was the match official in the clash between the Outsiders and Team Clarence. Believe or not, 1% chose Ref Devan. Must be the uncle who punched Mavericks winger Amir in the face in the July clash between Team Uncles and the Outsiders.
- Speaking of Mr. Devan, Mavericks striker Wei Long is glad to return to action after he finally finished serving his 3 match suspension after being sent off in that climactic clash between Mavericks FC and Team Uncles, which ended in violent fashion. The Mavericks no.23 was given a straight red card, after the referee thought he had scolded him. Such horrid refereeing!!!
- The FA has decided to fine the Mavericks Board for their failure to monitor their tabloid newpaper, The Outsiders Times, regarding the comments made against Devan above.
