Even though the team played much better in the second half defeat at the Stade de Sembawang, a defeat is nevertheless a defeat. Although we lost, the team's passing was better, and at least we can take back a few positives from the game. It's time we get the season going and kick-start it with a victory this Saturday. Take note that the timing has been rescheduled to an earlier kick-off (2.30pm slot) to maximise TV ratings for the various television networks who have bought TV rights to broadcast the match live here in Asia. The Outsiders should expect a hostile atmosphere at the Estádio do Serángoonã from the home fans and if the team can overcome this psychological barrier, half the battle is won.

The return to action of the midfield maestro is a huge lift for the Outsiders, having been beaten in both of their opening matches of the season. The Mavericks attacking midfielder has been courted by several clubs during the pre-season, but he chose to stay on with the Outsiders, after putting pen to paper in a new 3-year contract worth 2.8 million euros. His return to the heart of the Mavericks midfield will definitely kick-start the season for the Outsiders, provided he stays injury-free and girl-free. Expect him to light up the Estádio do Serángoonã this Saturday.
