Dear Mr.. CB
Hi.. I assume that you are one of our first team players. I have given the password to a few members of the team and it may have also been spread to other team members. Thanks for sharing your views in the blog but would you mind leaving down a name when you blog next time? Because personal comments and some flowery languages are subjective and what's more, by default, if no names are put down, it may imply that it may be misunderstood as my or the team's point of view. I would hope future bloggers would take responsibility for their own posts. And I hope this simple request would not deter my efforts to encourage more players to contribute their own ideas in the blog too.
Anyway, FYI, SSC cancelled islandwide field booking due to poor pitch conditions in most areas. Personally I do not like the decision to cancel the booking last minute. We encountered similar situations a couple of times, and most cancellations were due to a heavy downpour in the morning. However if we were to see things from their point of view, if teams are allowed to play when obviously the pitch is unplayable, the play would damage the pitch and additional maintenance costs have to be incurred. And the nominal rates we are enjoying at the moment would not be able to cover for the repair costs for the damage we do to the field. Since we are going to treat Sembawang Sec as our home ground, I believe we should also understand the need to keep our pitch playable. Hope my 2 cents' worth will help ease the disappointment some of our players had.
On the other hand, I am glad to have a player like our Mr CB, cause it showed how he looked forward to each match. I hope everyone would share the same enthusiasm as him. But do try to refrain from flowery languages at least in posts. In actual fact, that day's match squad is alittle understrength, so it may be a blessing in disguise to face horny team on a another day with more first team players. And to play on a drier pitch saves us the trouble of cleaning up afterwards too! Cheers!
p.s. If possible, pls collate a commitment list for month of August and email to Clement or myself so that we can plan the matches accordingly. By default, we will play on Saturdays, 3pm.
Best regards,
Chao Xing
