Mavericks News!

Here, we bring u another edition of The Outsiders Times, YOUR only source of news for Mavericks FC and everything else associated with the club.

  •  The Mavericks board are proud to reinstate the weekly The Outsiders Times after a 3 year hiatus. The board of directors and the public relations committee has finally put this project to fruition after much discussion over the course of the recently ended successful season the club has had, and have decided to get the ball rolling in preparation for the next season. Let the good times roll!

  • Mavericks have had two grueling friendly matches in the pre-season so far, against relatively violent opposition with mixed results. In last week's high-octane, action-packed clash against the CurryPuff Connoisseurs, the Outsiders came away with a 3-3 draw, but it was a match not for the faint-hearted. Howard Webb-styled referring from Mr Sivathirumurugankumar ended with Mavericks FC manager Jake Tay sent off to the touchlines after late challenges after late challenges on Guo Xiang, Alex and Christiano went unpunished. Opportunistic finishes from Captain Chao Xing, Jake Chia and Christiano got the goals for the Outsiders. The drama came to a boiling point after the referee said this to Jake, "You shut up. You play like shite, want to complain!" Holy shite! Referee can say these kind of things LOL.

  • The referee, Mr Siva, has been seen in a sleazy nightclub in Hawaii after being chased out of the country from angry fans of the Outsiders. He is currently living with Mrs Gopal at a makeshift home in Haleakala National Park, in Maui, Hawaii.

  •  In today's clash with the Barclays Capital Mats FC, veteran winger Amir survived the match relatively unscathed after being the target of endless number of fouls from the opposition who not happy want take off shirt and go outside and want to fight one-on-one because that's what they like to do. In a match full of goals, which ended with a narrow 5-4 away defeat for the Outsiders, Captain Chao Xing scored 2 brilliant goals, one of which was a simply sublime half-volley from a corner from Oreo. Defensive stalwart Guo Xiang added a third goal with an empathic header from another corner and a fourth with Christiano displaying once again his rich vein of form with a world-class tyco goal. 3 goals in 3 games for Christiano. And also 3 goals in 2 games for Chao Xing as well. Another standout performance from Barry was not enough to salvage the match. Admirable displays from stand-in keeper Varian and Joel are notable mentions.

  • From a reliable inside source, rumours have broken out that legendary Mavericks playmaker Kee Siang will make his timely return soon, with sources saying that he has been meditating in isolation in the Tibetan mountains, to regain his powers and mojo. The sacred ancient tomes found in the mysterious monastery of  Namgyal in Tibet by a group of explorers by accident, read, "In times of need, in the shadow of moments of truth, the one shall rise again like the phoenix. The one who they christened, Kee Kee".

  • Mavericks FC are proud to announce the signing of Jake Chia, or what fans call, Black Jake who is a powerhouse striker in the mould of Andy Carroll (when he was at Newcastle, not the one in Liverpool. But the one in West Ham currently isn't doing too bad either.) The Mavericks board have decided to seal the loan signing on a permanent deal after scoring a thunderbolt in pre-season as well as dominant displays upfront alone in recent games in the league.

  •  Also, everyone in the club wishes a very happy congratulations to midfield ace Oreo after his mission to propose to his girlfriend for her hand in marriage while on holiday in Korea was a success. Cheers to a blissful love life! Hip hip hurray! Go eat oreo cookies with milk! Yay!

  •  The club has made plans for a new home kit for the upcoming season, as a brand new start (and return to Division 1) deserves a brand new dress! The new kits will be available in club stores islandwide. Details will be released soon.

That's that for this edition of  The Outsiders Times.  Because I very free hor. Okfinethankyoubye.

Outsiders ends the season in style!

Season 2012 - Final League Match -   6 October 2012

Final Score: Pegasus FC 0 Mavericks FC 3

Goals: Victor ('25), Christiano ('37), Matthew ('79)
Assists: Matthew, Amir, Victor
MOM: Matthew

Greendale Plains, Punggol - Mavericks FC wrapped up a magnificent season with a comprehensive victory over Pegasus FC today on a cloudy afternoon with brilliantly worked goals from Victor, Christiano and Matthew.

It was a relatively comfortable win for the Outsiders in a match they were in control throughout.

Reverting back to the highly successful 4-5-1 formation, Mavericks FC's defence marshalled superbly by Seng Yew and Jiun Wei, were rarely troubled as the threat of their tricky opponents were nullified with unerring ease.

Striker Victor, who was a dominant force upfront on his own, caused all sorts of problems for the Pegasus defence, and rightly deserved to finally open his much anticipated Mavericks goal account today after some brilliant work from Matthew on the right flank.

Victor was lamenting afterwards that he couldn't stop scoring ever since he started wearing his magical new Adidas predator boots!

A teasing throughball from the winger Matthew sent Victor through on goal, and he made no mistake with an empathic finish. 1-0.

Mavericks FC were now on a high, having the better share of possession, and it was to no surprise, that soon, they doubled their advantage.

Superb interplay between Christiano who was bombing down the wing at left-back, and Amir on the left-flank, as they tore through the wings of Pegasus FC.

Christiano got on the hand of the return pass from Amir into the box before placing it past the keeper to make it 2-0.

Barry and Boon Leng were having another storming performance in midfield, with Wei Jie holding things together as the Outsiders totally owned the Pegasus midfield sia. They are like tearing the Pegasus a new bumhole sia. Hwahwahwaha.

Mavericks FC were cruising, and were turning on things in style. Gangnam Style.

Soon, it was 3-0 as Matthew played a delightful one-two with Victor, and it was his turn to be sent through, breaking the Pegasus offside trap, as he sent the ball past the keeper with a superb low drive.

Substitutes Jake Chia, Xiang Yi, Vic and Chao Xing all came close to adding a fourth goal, but lady luck wasn't shining her arse today. Final Score 3-0.

An empathic win, a great vintage performance from the team throughout, and an awesome end to what was an awesome season. May we have more good times like this again.

Credit must be given to team manager Jake Tay for being an awesome manager for leading us to promotion! He is like Sir Alex Ferguson siolz!

And of course, to the men out there on the pitch, for the blood, sweat and tears they have shed, for the team's cause.

Mavericks FC would not have any history, if it wasn't for you guys.

Next up, the much awaited return to Division 1!

Mavericks FC hwaiting! Up we go!
