Mavericks loses unbeaten run!

Final Score: T-Net Macpherson 3 Mavericks FC 1

Scorers:
Desmond ('18 pen)
Assist:
Desmond dive in penalty box lor
MOMs:
Barry

DeyiNabei Sec Pitch -
Mavericks FC finally lost today after a brilliant 5 match winning run came to an end as they were outplayed by a non-fasting T-Net Macpherson mats team.

They never fast lor! Still play rough when it's supposed to be season for forgiveness since it's fasting month! Nabei!

Desmond dived brilliantly after the long-time-no-see-Leon made his long awaited second debut and passed the ball into Desmond's path before Desmond was tripped and he dived down brilliantly to win the penalty in which he converted brilliantly.

Barry was clearly the best player on the pitch, stringing passes and making countless well-timed interceptions as the opponents in red clearly couldn't handle his utter brilliantness.

And yet, he all but lasted a mere 5 minutes on the pitch. But he was clearly the best player on the pitch. For the 5 minutes on the pitch, he surpassed his peers in midfield, destroyed the opposition and showed world football, how world class he is.

Despite having to come off due to the recurrence of a pulled hamstring injury sustained after playing with Jake last Sunday, Barry had shown enough, that he was clearly, one of the most consistently consistent, highly technical centre midfielders in world football today.

Opta stats analysis showed that Barry had a pass completion ratio of 101% and made 38 interceptions in a space of 5 minutes. 101%? How is that possible? Because Barry can. Opta stats don't lie.

Okayfinethankyoubye.

Last-gasp hero Wei Lian wins it for the Outsiders!

Final Score:
Zespol FC 0 Mavericks FC 1

Scorers:
Wei Lian ('84)
Assist:
Vic
MOMs:
Wei Lian

Greendale Plains, Harare, Zimbabwe - Mavericks FC showed true grit and character as Wei Lian's last gasp winner earned them all 3 points in a scrappy affair as the Outsiders edge closer to the title.

A brilliantly measured through-ball from Mavericks midfield talisman Vic split the Zespol defence wide open, as the pacy Wei Lian broke the off-side trap and got on the end of it before slotting it past the keeper with a superb low drive.

The goal sparked mass celebrations among the travelling Mavericks fans in the stands as the league title is now within their grasp with only 4 matches left to play.

The Outsiders were missing several key players such as Desmond, Christiano, Khai, and new signing Ansel as well as Harish and Andy. Due to the chronic lack of striking options upfront, the Outsiders were forced to draft in striker Vincent Lee from their feeder team, Victoria de Guai Lan FC.

The Victoria de Guai Lan Centre is renowned for producing talent from its prestigious elite football academy, much like the Clairefontaine academy in France.

It opened in 1984 and was one of the first schools to receive autonomous status. It is one of the few early city-centre schools still in existence and features two academy buildings from the pre- and post-war period on a single site.

The academy has a high reputation of producing some of the most gifted highly technical players of our time.

Notable academy graduates include cultured centrebacks Seng Yew and Chuanji, the latter who was infamous for breaking the code of conduct of the academy for moonlighting as a sidewalk ball juggler in the late 90's.

Popular title-winning player-manager Jake Tay who is affectionately known as 西方白海豚 (Xī Fāng Bái Hǎitún) or "White Dolphin of the West" during his stint in the academy, was one of the academy's top scholars alongside Harish.

Other academy graduates includes Vic, Barry and Khai who made a name for themselves for getting caught red-handed in the ladies team's shower room. Up till now no one knows what was the exact thing they were doing in there, although Barry insists that they were playing Scrabble.

Going back to the match report, Kee Siang did not get owned by the little Zespol playmaker who was wearing the number 3 jersey. Wanna know why? Coz no one owns Kee Siang.

Kee Siang doesn't have a CTRL button on his keyboard, because Kee Siang is always in control. Kee Siang once whacked a ball at a horse's head. Now the horse is a giraffe. Kee Siang doesn't ever have a bad first touch, coz the ball just gets scared of him and stops by itself at his feet.

Yes. Coz no one owns Kee Siang.

Okayfinethankyoubye. That's it for this match report. Let's continue this winning run! 4 more matches to go. Win them all, and we'll be certified champions! Mavericks Hwaiting!

Awesome Amazing Ansel Annihilates!

Final Score:
T-Net Club@Macpherson 1 Mavericks FC 5

Scorers:
Ansel ('18, '37, '60, '71), Amir ('79)
Assist:
Jake, Alex, Guo Xiang, Boon Leng, Faizy
MOMs:
Ansel

Pamela Henderson Secondary Pitch
- Another blistering performance from new mid-season signing Ansel ensured that the Outsiders are within reaching distance of the top of the table.

With just 5 games left to play, Mavericks FC are right on track in their bid to win the title and promotion back to the first division after a calamitous past couple of seasons.

A milestone of a match, as Ansel scored 4 opportunistic goals; his silky pace and power upfront matched by his superb technique as the new Mavericks signing has amassed 6 goals in just 2 games! Brilliant stuff.

A good freekick from player-manager Jake Tay was met with a thumping header into the corner of the net as Ansel broke the deadlock. 1-0. And not before long, a goal-kick from Alex split the defence apart and Ansel was on hand to drive it home for 2-0. Awesome assist!

It was 2-0 at halftime, and Seng Yew did something naughty in the toilet and got a cramp in his leg. Nottie YewYew.

2nd half came about, and the Outsiders were having the better chances, with the hardworking runs of Wei Lian, Vic, Wei Jie and Kee Siang. Chao Xing and Clement were having blinders at fullback, with the opposition wingers barely getting a whiff of a chance.

And not surprisingly, soon it was 3-0 up to the Outsiders, as Guo Xiang did an "Alex" and sent out a hopeful long ball into the path of Ansel, who got pass the flailing keeper to tap it into the open net.

The ever classy Bob "Bleng" Boon Leng, was exceptional in the centre of midfield as he constantly kept 大 胖 (Dà Pang) and 小 胖 (Xiǎo Pang), the two opposition playmakers in check throughout the match.

And then, he retained possession superbly, before sending a deep cross into the box which Ansel took it down with his chest with a deft touch, before turning past his marker and sent it pass the keeper to make it 4-0!

By this time, the fans of the Outsiders in the stands have already taken the striker to their hearts, and were heard singing in the stands "The Ansel Song".

The Mavericks Board has decided to cash in on Ansel's rising popularity and has released this commercial for its new prized star player! Click Here to See!

The 4-goal salvo from the Man-of-Match was however, to be outshone by a glorious momentous occasion, that has been anticipated world-wide for so long.

World football witnessed today an event of epic proportions, a moment that has set hearts aflutter everywhere, and anticipation has risen to an unrelenting magnitude that would shatter the very foundations of what football has become in this amplified, chaotic world. And this, this barren spell that has lasted a tumultuous 12 months.

A barren run of miscued shots, lost chances, unforgiving missed opportunities, and a condescending indifference to what football has turned into for this Mavericks FC legend. A dauntless, doughty and almost daring attempt to salvage what he thought was lost forever.

Lost in the etched marks of history. A valiant, valorous moment was all it took to change the chronicles of time. To alter what destiny has set in stone in the annals of the hourglass.

In what was a melodious, almost poetic justice to the disparaging expectations that has beriddled this once irreplaceable Mavericks veteran, he tunefully latched on to a sweet through-ball from his compatriot on the field of battle, Faizy, and with one deft touch, he got pass his marker and was through on goal.

In his lucid state of consciousness, in his moment of ingenuity, he thought to himself as he bore down on goal with only the keeper to beat. "63. Will it forever be that number? Will it forever stay that way?"

No.

One-on-one. Keeper stood his ground. But the man in question; Amir, he slotted it home past the keeper into the bottom corner of the net. And GOAL!!!!!!

Final Score: 5-1.

Pardon this. Couldn't resist typing this in storybook format. Hwahwahwaha.

In case of curiosity, the next match is Amir's 100th game for Mavericks FC. 64 Goals in 99 Matches now. And yes, these statistics are recorded by the Mavericks Board.

Oh and Clement say we don't need Chuan Ji anymore. Coz Clement say he can juggle better than Chuan Ji. Oh and just now got one hairy caterpillar sia at our bag area at the field just now. Hope none of you brought Mr. Caterpie home! If not, later it will evolve into a Butterfree and fly around your room and you'll be shouting, "FEi Ah! FEi Ah!"
