Hansel & Gretel Owns!

Final Score: Northern Galaxy FC 0 Mavericks FC 3

Scorers:
Ansel ('60, '73), Giam ('81)
Assist:
Chao Xing
MOMs:
Jiun Wei

Punggol Secondaria di Noisee School- Despite a week long saga revolving around the possible sacking of Mavericks manager Jake Tay, the Outsiders maintained their focus and capped off the week with a fine victory against the bottom team in the league Northern Galaxy.

This comes after a bout of attendancitis which has caused the team to miss 12 first team players for matchday, with the last minute loan signings of Ansel and Giam proving influential in maintaining the Outsiders' winning run in the league. Barring that if the results from the other matches goes their way, the Outsiders would be sitting pretty at the top of the league table by the end of the weekend.

Ansel and Giam, now labelled as "The Deadly Duo of Hansel and Gretel" by the passionate Mavericks fans in the stands after their superlative individual respective performances capped goals for each of them, with Hansel getting his name on the scoresheet twice on his debut, and Gretel who capped off the hot afternoon with a sublime free-kick for the third goal.

I am tired coz I had a super long week. So this week the match report will be lacking in the humour okie! Anyways, the performance was good all round from the team, and a brilliant clean sheet earned through the sheer hard work of the Mavericks defence notably from Jiun Wei and Seng Yew. Oh and I will pass the ball in the next match okie! I have watched Qiu Li's football skills compilation on Youtube, and I will strive my best to play like him! Good Win Dudes. okfinethankyoubye.

Final Score: Coca-Cola Singapore FC 1 Mavericks FC 2

Scorers:
Vic ('18), Darran ('78)
Assist:
Amir
MOMs:
Vic & Barry

Estadio Galleria Macpherson Secondaria - A truly gritty display from the Outsiders on a hot and crispy Saturday afternoon saw them beat a hardworking Coca-Cola FC team today and gained them another precious 3 points to extend their winning streak after last week's 3-0 victory.

Mavericks FC were missing 7 key players, with injuries to Khai (still nursing knee injury after injuring himself dancing to kpop) and Jake (he said he need to let his hand heal. naughty hands) as well as Faizy who went to KL to pick up minahs.

Oreo went to Korea to watch SNSD CONCERT (OMG I AM SO JEALOUS) while the rest had work commitments. However, Kee Siang was declared fit just before kick-off after injuring his ankle in bed yesterday.

The Outsiders had only one sub with the team forced to play with a makeshift backline with Amir at rightback! Hwahwawhwaha. The team battled hard, and deserved to take the lead after a corner from Jerome caused chaos in the box, with Vic on hand to scramble it home via deflection 1-0!

The Coke Men equalised just before half-time against the run of play, with an emphatic curling finish from outside the box from the Short Uncle. At half-time, several naughty Mavericks fans in retaliation, went to drink Pepsi and pee-ed Pepsi pee on the Coca-Cola FC team bus. How classy.

2nd half came about, and the Coke Men were firing on all cylinders, including Coca Cola cans and bottles which are all cylindrical in shape. Nice. Mavericks FC were on the backfoot but soon got a stranglehold of the game.

Desmond was in his element, and was the forefront of the strikeforce, as Barry's dominance in midfield grew in height. The runs of Andy, Jerome and Darran were causing the Coke Men all sorts of problems with Amir switching back to left winger as well.

Vic and Barry were safe in possession, as Mavericks FC is finally showing signs that finally we are a passing team! Oh, speaking of passing, the legendary Kee Siang showed the world that he is a cheat player in Winning Eleven coz injured ankle still can dribble past 4 players.

Chris, Jiun Wei, Clement and Kee Siang held resolute in defence as well as Alex who put in a top class save after tipping the ball over the bar from a free-kick. Great Stuff.

Not before long, the Outsiders deservedly got their winning goal. A ball from Barry; the soccer ball of course, was sprayed wide to the left to Amir.

The veteran winger showed a flashback memento moment of his younger days; and with a deft touch, he cut past two players before releasing a great throughball which split the defence. Ah, just like in the past. Ah, just like last time. (Ah, last time also got dinosaurs.)

Darran, who wasn't sure whether he was onside or not, waited for the whistle that didn't come, and timed his run to perfection and met the throughball before finishing it superbly with a low drive into the bottom corner of the net! 2-1.

Great Win Mavericks FC!

We need to keep this run going. We are currently second if results go our way this weekend. But we have a game in hand against the league leaders, and so, if we win our next match, potentially we could top the table. We currently have the best goal difference in the league with a +8 thanks to our awesome defence! We have conceded the least amount of goals in the league! Let's maintain this!

Christiano Awesome!

Final Score: GPGS FC 2 Mavericks FC 2

Scorers: Wei Jie ('15 pen), Christiano ('37 solo goal)
Assist: Vic (nice dive!), Christiano (assisted himself)
MOMs: Christiano

Secondaria di Primo Grado Serangoon - Saturday afternoon saw one of the greatest goals ever scored in Mavericks FC history by one of the greatest players ever to grace in the Outsiders' colours.

The ever present stalwart at the heart of the Mavericks defence, Christiano Chow reminded everyone once again, the quality he brings to the team, and to some others, the quality he brings to bed as well.

Blessed with pace, flair and an indomitable physique, Christiano is the perfect defender.

His impeccable sense of timing and his unmatched ability to rise up to head with such awesome hangtime puts him right up there in the category of classy defenders alongside the likes of Nemanja Vidic, Sergio Ramos, Ricardo Carvalho, John Terry, Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, Franco Baresi, and Wes Brown. Hmm. Wes Brown.

Able to play across the back four, Christiano's versatility has been seen in recent weeks, as he deputized for left-back Clement when he was eating Koala meat in Brisbane 2 weeks ago, and this week where he replaced Chuan Ji at centreback when he was eating Panda meat in Shanghai.

Christiano is normally a rightback, whereby his marauding runs always gets the crowds on their feet, and cause his hordes of female fans to start flashing at him as well. And this weekend saw him scoring his first ever goal ever since he was signed by manager Amir Shearer 5 years ago.

A milestone nevertheless, and rightly done so, as world football saw one of the greatest individual goals ever scored.

Defending from a corner, a loose ball was shepherd out by Christiano down the left side of the Mavericks penalty box. After a tussle on the ball with an opposing striker, Christiano won it and embarked on a sensational 70 yard run down the left flank.

Just like Gareth Bale.

He got past one , and then past two, his forceful run leaving his opponents eating dust. With a touch of class, and a shuffle (EVERYDAY I'M SHUFFLING TOT-TOT-TOT-TOT-TOT), he destroyed another three defenders, as Christiano beared down on the opposition penalty box.

With no more defenders in sight, and no sweat in light, Christiano was now one-on-one with the keeper. As the keeper rushed out of his area to try and thwart him, you know what Christiano did? He lobbed the keeper. And the ball rose and floated over the keeper's head. And it landed into the open net. Epic. GOAL!!!!!!!

His teammates stared in awe, in disbelief, at what they had just seen. They had just seen history been made. The crowds, suspended in shock, adrenaline overdosed, had just witnessed a legendary goal, that will always be etched in the record books.

A moment of brilliance. A truly epic goal, that will be chronicled in the annals of time.

One of the goals of the century.

Manager Amir Shearer at the touchline was caught in the moment and even joined in the celebration on the pitch.

Ah yes. This was supposed to be a match report. Vic dived awesomely just like Darran had taught us all. And he got the penalty, which Wei Jie converted brilliantly for the first goal. But we conceded 2 goals. So the final score is 2-2 lor. Oh, and Jerome received a straight red card and was sent off. Okbye.
