The Outsiders thrash Coca Cola FC!

Final Score: Mavericks FC 4 Coca-Cola Singapore FC 0

Scorers: Desmond ('4), Kee Siang ('37), Wei Jie ('64),
Oreo ('79)
Assist: Andy, Jerome, Desmond
MOMs: Desmond, Seng Yew

Stadio Bedok Greenie - Mavericks FC continued their great start to the season with a comprehensive victory over Coca-Cola Singapore FC this afternoon after a blistering performance that will go down as one of the greats.

A dominant display in midfield saw the Outsiders triumph over their opponents in white with Desmond influential in attack as he showed why the owners paid so much for the much highly-sought youngster. And a Franz Beckenbauer-esque performance from elegant centre-back Seng Yew in defence gave the Outsiders a stable platform for the Outsiders to raid the opposition half with veteran centreback Chuan Ji returning to the side as well.

Mavericks FC took the lead after an opportunistic goal from Desmond after a lay-off from Andy which confused the opposition defence. With the Outsiders growing in dominance, Kee Siang once again played like Zinedine Zidane and Maradona combined, with a sublime solo effort late in the first half. The midfield combination of Khai, KeeKee, Darran, Oreo were too much of a match for their less illustrious opponents, as Mavericks FC ended the first half with a comfortable 2 goal cushion.

At half-time, the Coca Cola FC players were looking visibly drained, after been run ragged by a classy Mavericks FC performance, and several fans in the stands were staring in disbelief after seeing several of the Coca Cola players even resorting to drinking rival brand Pepsi as a means to provide them with a much added boost since the Coke effect was clearly not working.

Second half resumed but the Outsiders continued their dominance, and meted out punishment after punishment over their opponents, and the fans did not have to wait long as Mavericks went 3-0 up. A tantalising run down the right from Jerome ended with him squaring superbly to Wei Jie who was lurking in the 6-yard box and he made no mistake with a close-range finish.

The Mavericks defence held resolute, with Chris and Clement looking threatening overlapping down the flanks playing like the munjen versions of the Sergio Ramos and Patrice Evra. Several chances fell to Amir but once again, his wayward Ameobi-like finishing let him down. A brilliant Xavi-throughball from Seng Yew reached Amir who broke the off-side trap only for him to shoot straight at the keeper and therefore extending his goal-drought to 10 months!

But the Outsiders maintained possession with substitutes Harish and Clarence brilliant in midfield and soon, it was 4-0 after a great throughball from Desmond reached Oreo who sprung the off-side trap and rounded the keeper before finishing it with aplomb. And before long, the referee blew the final whistle to send the travelling Mavericks fans home happy. A truly superb team performance, and great clean sheet for Alex.

Great work Outsiders! Let's maintain this winning mentality for the games ahead!

Special mention for Khai as he is our new player-manager coz he so awesome! And Jake Tay Chin Yuen, you might have been our one and only title-winning manager, but we got relegated the following season! hwahwahwaha!

Mavericks kickstart season 11/12 with a bang!

Final Score: PapaJahat FC 2 Mavericks FC 4

Scorers: Khai ('52), ('76) Vic ('61), Wei Lian ('84)
Assist: Kee Siang, Wei Lian, Amir
MOMs: Khai and Chin Yuen

Pei-Hwa Putonghua Grassfields, Yunnan Province, China - Mavericks FC kicked off the new season with a satisfying hard-fought victory against a technical PJFC team on a cloudy Saturday afternoon. Outstanding performances by malay-korean star forward Khai and Chinese national centreback Jake Tay capped off a great start to the season. Despite losing a 2 goal lead in the 2nd half, the Outsiders fought back with another masterclass display from Apple Kee Siang in midfield alongside Wei Jie.

A difficult first half ended goal-less, with PJFC having the better chances. Mavericks FC had its fair share of chances, notably, veteran striker Amir Shearer who once again missed an open chance, thereby extending his goal drought to 9 months. Even Torres is better. Or Shola Ameobi.

The 2nd half started well for the Outsiders as they gradually got a grasp of the midfield battle, and before long, a brilliant threaded pass from Kee Siang sent Khai clear, who brushed off the challenges of two defenders before lobbing the keeper to break the deadlock. Soon, the Outsiders made it two-nil, with another enterprising display from new signing left winger Wei Lian who broke down the left flank before squaring it for Vic to tap it home with the easiest of finishes.

However, PJFC managed to claw their way back into the game, first with a Darran-inspired blatant dive in the box which lead to the penalty given by the Asian Howard Webb. The Asian Howard Webb was an angry man throughout, fcuking Jiun Wei and Alex for shouting at him. Really Howard Webb sia. Asian version. And soon, it became 2-2 after a miscommunication in defence.

But the Outsiders showed great spirit, and Khai made it 3-2 with an exquisite long range curler which hit the upright before the ball nestled into the bottom corner of the net. Classy finish sia Khai Dindane. And the SNSD "Mr. Taxi" dance ensued afterwards. Classy dance sia Khai Diniesta.

Mavericks FC had calmed the storm from a resurgent PJFC and it was just a matter of seeing the game off. A long punt from Harish was cushioned downwards with a header by Amir into Wei Lian's path. Wah really like Shola Ameobi sia. And Wei Liang wrapped it off with a stunning lob over the keeper from outside the box for an awesome goal! 4-2.

The Outsiders saw the game off, and did well in the final exchanges, as their opponents begun losing their spirit. And before long, Howard Webb blew the whistle for full time.

This was a spirited display from the Outsiders, and this sets the team nicely as they aim to get out of the doldrums of this lowly 2nd tier of football in this division. If Newcastle can do it, so can you! Great win guys. Let's continue this. We have broken the trend of losing our first match of the season. Every season. Goodgoodverygood.

Wah I write report sia. Got miss me? *muacksies*
